The Parsons Public Works Department provides numerous services to the city and its citizens. The department has full-time and seasonal employees who provide:

• Management of Lake Parsons, historic Oakwood Cemetery, and the city's parks system
• Maintenance and construction of city streets and roadways
• Oversight of the city's stormwater drainage
• Operation of Oakwood Cemetery
• Maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet
