The Water Distribution crew is responsible for the connection and disconnection of water service and for the maintenance and repair of the city's 80 miles of water lines, water meters, water valves, and fire hydrants. Water main breaks typically consumes a large portion of the distribution crew's time, especially during long periods of dry weather or during periods of extreme freezing conditions.

Elevated Storage
The City has 1.25 million gallons of elevated storage located in the city's three water towers. These towers not only provide storage, but also create pressure for the distribution system.
