The Community Development Department currently offers numerous programs whether it is to help individuals with housing issues or to assist in the addition of attractions and amenities in the community through the award of public and private grants.
Downtown Reconstruction One of the major successes of the department was the reconstruction and improvement of Downtown Parsons after the April 2000 tornado. The project was such a success that it helped Parsons to win the 2006 Great American Main Street Award.
