2021 CST MUSIC IN THE PARK

CONCERT SERIES LINEUP

Expect the same great entertainment this year as local industry, CST, has graciously agreed to continue their title sponsorship for the 2021 season of the Music in the Park Concert Series. The "CST 2021 Music in the Park Concert Series" is slated to begin on Thursday, June 3 and as always is free. The City of Parsons, Kansas is proud to co-present this weekly concert series, located at the Seaton Family Pavilion in Forest Park at 204 S. 13th Street (13th and Broadway.)

The concert series kicks off Thursday, June 3 with a command performance of the band ENCORE. While it is not our policy to repeat artists, we could not ignore all the positive responses we received from our patrons following the band's performance last July. Our audience fell in love with their performance of classic rock from the 70s and 80s, and they received by far the most requests to return.

On Thursday, June 10, we welcome the Heartland's finest Honky Tonk Band, Three Chord Justice to the stage. Originally formed in San Diego, California, and just recently relocated to Tulsa, Three Chord Justice performs a mix of classic country influenced originals and handpicked covers from the likes of Emmylou Harris, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Buck Owens, Patsy Cline and other country greats.

We're hoping the second around is the charm when Music in the Park hosts the over-the-top 80s Hair Metal tribute act The Banned on Thursday, June 17. Originally, The Banned was scheduled to perform in June of last year, but the show was cancelled due to COVID restrictions. The Banned features songs from all your favorite 80s rock bands like Van Halen, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Poison, Motley Crue, and many others.

Fans of the late/great blues guitar slinger Stevie Ray Vaughan will need to be sure to attend the Thursday, June 24 performance of Nathan Bryce's SRV Experience. "Nathan Bryce's SRV Experience" pays homage to legendary Blues Rock musician Stevie Ray Vaughan. SRV revived blues rock in the 1980s and became one of the most influential guitarists of all time. This show is packed with electrifying energy and SRV's trademark showmanship!

Music in the Park invites you out Thursday, July 1 to enjoy the music of a very talented singer/songwriter, Casii Stephan. Stephan is a soul pop/rock artist hailing from Minnesota. Now based in Tulsa, Stephan's voice is fierce and fearless, and she has been compared to the likes of Florence Welch, Fiona Apple and Carole King, as her vocal timbre possesses a full and warm quality.

On Sunday, July 4th the Community Band helps celebrate the holiday with a patriotic salute of all your favorite marches and anthems held before the annual fireworks display. Be sure to join in on all the Parsons 150th Celebration events as well.

It will be time to get down and funky on Thursday, July 8th, when the Full Flava Kings hit the stage of the Seaton Family Pavilion. For years, the Full Flava Kings have been providing the very best in Funk, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Urban Rock, Pop, etc. in the form of LIVE MUSIC!

We have something special planned for our fans on Thursday, July 15 as we bring together two generations of performers from one area family and present an Evening with the Cook Family. For years country fans have enjoyed listening to Oswego native Rick Cook whose skillful performances of country music has delighted audiences. Joining Rick onstage will be his daughter Jaylee Cook, as well as his son Craig Cook. Between the three of them you can expect to hear your favorite classic, contemporary, and pop country songs, as well as Red Dirt music.

Finally on Thursday, July 22 we close out the 2021 CST Storage Music in the Park Concert Series with a unique evening of music highlighting the greatest keyboardist in music with a performance of "88 Keys A Tribute to the Piano Men of Rock."

Billed as FUN, EXCITING, DYNAMIC! Dennis Laffoon of national recording artists Shooting Star with friends including Freda Mercury, will bring you a tribute to the All Star keyboardists of Rock 'n' Roll! Included in his repertoire are such artists as Elton John, Billy Joel, Jerry Lee Lewis, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Hornsby, even Liberace....and MORE! Come enjoy a FUN and EXCITING show of keyboard entertainment with a sense of humor that Dennis Laffoon and his multiple personalities, and his special friends will demonstrate, all executed by some of the KC areas top musicians!
