City Clerk
With a diverse array of functions, the city clerk's office includes a number of administrative duties crucial to efficient and effective delivery of local government services. While many of these functions take place behind the scene and out of direct sight of citizens, they are fundamental to the smooth operation of other city departments.

Responsibilities
City Clerk Debbie Lamb is responsible for many basic governmental functions including record keeping of official council proceedings, certification of all ordinances and resolutions, issuance of certain licenses and permits (e.g. cereal malt beverages), and administration of official oaths for boards and commissions.

The city's accounting functions are also performed by this office. Payroll, accounts payable and receivable, monthly accounting, purchasing activities and investments are all handled through the city clerk's office.

Consequently, all billing for utilities, payment of fines and payment of court fines and license fees are handled by the office. Other activities of the office include management of the city's computer systems, data processing, cemetery records, and handling of open records requests.
