City Logo

The City of Parsons has a new look. During a press conference on Thursday, city officials unveiled a new logo to replace the current seal featuring the Municipal Building. In addition, the Parsons & Greater Labette County Tourism unveiled its logo.

"As cities look toward the future, we recognize the importance of marketability, said Kari West, City of Parsons Public Information Officer. "It is part of the natural progression to adopt a more visual city logo."

West said the design team challenged with creating the new logo worked well together. There were several factors that the team was challenged with including: where will Parsons be in five years, how will the logo look throughout the city, and will this image accurately represent Parsons and Greater Labette County?

Jim Zaleski, Director of Marketing and Tourism for Parsons and Greater Labette County said, "The minimalist approach to the new logo was an important consideration. It becomes inherently apparent to market the area with a consistent, recognizable and meaningful representation of the destination within the logo, and we think it does that."

The new logo will be incorporated over the next year in a wide variety of ways. It will be used on business cards, stationery, brochures, advertisements, clothing and apparel and eventually signs and city vehicles.

"When people see the rolling green hills, blue lakes and gorgeous sunsets, we want them to automatically recognize Labette County Kansas," West said.
