The City of Parsons has one full time Animal Control Officer responsible to keep the streets safe of animals running at large. All animals pick up by the Animal Control Officer are taken to the Allen Veterinary Clinic located on North 59 Highway. Animals are housed for three days, Those not claimed by the owner are either put up for adoption by the Parsons Humane Society or euthinized.
The only breed of dog prohibited by city ordinance is the Pit Bull Terrier. All other breeds are required to be vacinated and tag. The animal control ordinance can be found under, Related Pages. |
