The Parsons Police Department is a full time staffed law enforcement agency operating with four(4) twelve (12) hour shifts. Each shift is staffed with a patrol sergeant, patrol corporal, and three (3) to four (4) public safety officers. Duties include routine patrol, answering calls for service, responding to alarm activations, escorts, traffic enforcement including accident investigations, as well as initiating criminal investigations.
The division has six (6) black & white Ford Police Interceptors. Each vehicle is equipped with multi-channel radios, siren / public address systems, both led and strobe lighting, traffic radar equipment and digital in car video systems.
Two (2) cars are purchased each year, maintained for a period of three (3) years and then replaced. Extended maintenance warranty's are also purchased in the original purchase. By purchasing two (2) a year with a three (3) year life, maintenance costs have been kept to a minimum. |
